The Social Problems the People are Facing in the Current Days (Essay Sample) Content: SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN SOCIETIESNAME:INSTITUTION:Social problem in societiesJavier defined a social problem as any condition/ behavior that has negative consequences for a large number of people, and that recognized that require being address. Such a problem affects a large number negatively and changes the people way of living. Social problems can be either natural or human caused. They modify the people way of life and behavior. People are forced to adapt while others change their environment if they are unable to adjust to such conditions. Natural problems such as death, floods, draught etcetera are difficult to address, but human problems are easy to manage and resolve them.Sexual assault and rape are examples of the human-caused problem. Such a problem has been rampant in the society not only in the currents days but also in the past. They affect every person in the community. The victims are mainly old women and young girls. In the past people thought that such crim es of rape and sexual assault just happened and did not consider them as a social problem. The crime was not until the 1990s when the rate of sexual assaults increased and became an international awareness, and the governments established the new policy on the victims where they had to face life incarceration (Rubinton Weinberg, 2010). The victims are the youths and teens who usually smoke and consume alcoholic drinks. Drugs have no positive implications and only leads to suffering, impaired judgment, and death. Most people who are drug addicts find it hard to leave the drugs. Statistics shows that about 30% of high school studentsà ¢Ã¢â ¬ abuse alcohol (Tenz, 2010). Alcohol drinking can lead to liver cirrhosis, cancer, and death especially for those who drink and drive. Smoking, on the other hand, leads to lung cancer, air pollution , and other chronic diseases. Use of drug also affects the life of the unborn child for the pregnant women. In a country like Kenya, National Agency for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) association was formed to fight against drug abuse. In learning institutions, guidance and counseling groups have also helped to curb the situation. To conclude, the government, as well as the people, should work hand in hand to reduce the many social problems in our current society.
